You kick start your day with coffee, and go on to drink more coffee at breakfast, in your work meetings, and finally wind up before the television with a good old cup of coffee. If you are crackers about coffee, here’s a workshop with a master barista that will surely appeal to the caffeine addict in you. Buzzintown in partnership with Le Meridien, Gurgaon, is hosting an evening of appreciating coffee and learning some latte art. Of course, you will get to enjoy your favourite cup of coffee with an assortment of Meridien’s signature éclairs and participate in a surprise contest. For coffee lovers, this is a dream as it would be your chance to learn from a master barista the art of making a perfect cup of coffee and serve it with some art on top.
Coffee and Eclair
As you settle down with the welcome drink served to you on arrival, master barista of Le Meridien, Mahima Malhotra will chat you up about your love of coffee, the popular varieties, before getting down to making each of them before you. For Delhi-born Mahima, the journey from a regular hostess to a master barista has been a very interesting one. So taken in was she by the world of coffee after joining Meridien in 2009 that she signed up soon after for a special coffee training session by master barista and LM100 member, Fritz Storm, Italian Master Barista – Nicola Scognamiglio, and Dutch latte art champion and global latte artist, Esther Maasdam. A master barista herself today at Le Meridien, New Delhi, Mahima has displayed panache in her craft by rendering impressions of peacock, Buddha, India Gate, and Taj Mahal on a cup of latte.
Watch carefully as she makes the perfect cup of cappuccino for you. Latte, Mocha and Americano are the other coffee varieties that will be attempted by her. After all café-style coffee too can be churned out from home. Through the workshop, we wish to simplify coffee and display some smart techniques which come in handy to get a great cup of hot mocha at home. Maybe next time you can host a coffee gathering on your terrace and treat your friends to your special coffee. While Mahima does her latte art, you too can practice on a few cups. The evening will conclude with a coffee and éclair tasting session followed by a surprise contest. You would be trying out some of Le Meridien’s classic signature éclair recipes including a few modern ones.
If this event excites you, just shell out 500 bucks (inclusive of all taxes) to book your seat for a relaxing evening among fellow coffee lovers, appreciating coffee and learning from an expert how to make a good one.
