Nargis Fakhri: do models make lousy actors?
‘Rockstar’, the most ambitious project Imtiaz Ali has attempted so far, released to mixed reviews. While the world, by and large, sees enough promise in Ranbir Kapoor the actor and the star, the film too has got its share of approvals.

But the model turned actress Nargis Fakhri isn’t going anywhere vis-à-vis her acting skills. She of course remains more to ‘seen’ than realized given her ‘pretty ‘n hot’ quotient. Her pretty frame dominates the scene. So Buzzintown brings to you a quick sneak peak into the life of this stunner but what many seem to suggest, dud of an actor.

For the uninitiated, Nargis Fakhri is a half Pakistani half Czech American beauty born and bred in New York. Born in 1979, she was America’s Next Top Model cycles 2 and 3 in 2004.

Nargis made her entry in the Indian scene in 2009 as a Kingfisher Calendar girl and needless to say was a stunner! Her pictures from the calendar series were an instant rage.

Nargis caught the eye of director Imitiaz Ali. In an interview to the media, Ali reportedly said, “We were looking for a person who would look completely unachievable for Ranbir, so there would be a certain level of plain looks and real personality when we first picked Nargis. I did not want a ‘I’m so hot and sexy and I pout my lips’ kind of personality.”

Nargis is starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor, the media anointed next superstar of Bollywood. Her featuring in ‘Rockstar’ was naturally highly published. But after the film’s release, the reports on the lady haven’t been particularly nice. But she certainly seems to have stayed on with the young minds. Buzz is even before the release of her film, she has bagged three endorsements deals worth Rs 9 crore, reports the Economic Times.
Fakhri will be endorsing apparel brand Van Heusen’s women’s line, a premium brand of Tata Motors and Marico’s Parachute hair-care brand.
