When DK Bose and Gang Came Calling at Arthur’s Theme…
With Aamir Khan’s next production, Delhi Belly, creating much buzz, Team Delhi Belly is out in full force to promote their upcoming flick.
Buzzintown checks out what Team Delhi Belly did at the newly opened restaurant, Arthur’s Theme in Juhu, Mumbai.
Imran Khan and Vir Das partied till wee hours in the morning before their upcoming release Delhi Belly (Delhi Belly is release date is July 01, 2011) and landed straight at Arthur’s Theme next morning for brunch… Both seemed to share great camaraderie with each other and the team too. They kept cracking jokes throughout the brunch. As always Vir Das at his wittiest best cracking some spontaneous jokes from the conversation they had.
Arthur’s Theme is a newly opened French/European restaurant in Juhu, Mumbai. The brainchild of Navtej Sawhney, it has already won many awards such as Top Chef Award and Winner of “King of Chef”.
The food in Arthur’s Theme menu is carefully selected from different parts of Europe. The Indian palette for being varied in tastes, Arthur’s Theme offers a perfect balance to suit the vegetarian and non vegetarian taste. Each dish is well balanced in taste, texture and presentation, combined with the generous use of herbs and sauces which leaves the connoisseurs of good food relishing the delicacies and soaking into the tantalizing aromas of the subtle flavors.
Now here’s getting back to the Delhi Belly Team who brunched at Arthur’s. Here’s what they had to say about working with Aamir Khan… Imran said, “It was never an easy process to get through Aamir Khan Productions for Delhi Belly, I gave 6 auditions to get through”.
Vir Das humorously added, “Aamir Khan Productions gives you a chance of loosing complete hope and then they will call you for another rejection and another for the longest time before selecting you finally…”
The restaurant also boasts of a well equipped bar, serving wines from around the world and cocktails that are especially created to suit the cuisine served.
To the uninitiated, the story is based upon three Delhi-based bachelors. Already a song from the film has rustled up quite a storm given its expletive laden content, DK Bose. Now, sung in continuum it sounds like a commonly used north Indian gali…
Directed by ad film guy Abhinav Deo it has been penned by Los Angeles based writer Akshat Verma.
Arthur’s Theme has a careful selection of cuisines from different parts of Europe and royal names like Don Quixote, Luda, Marie Curie, Konrad, Artois, Heidi, Saxon, Richard form part of the menu. The French and European Cuisines have been designed to suit the taste of the Indian palate and yet maintain the essence of its originality.
Arthur’s Theme offers the new Sample Platter concept for an exceptional unlimited fare on Sunday between 12 noon to 3.30 pm called the Brunch. Different regions of Europe have been introduced via their culinary footprints for each and every special guest at Arthur’s Theme.
The film’s script was lying hidden in the pile of scripts at Aamir Khan’s office when accidentally wife Kiran Rao picked it up and started reading. And soon began to laugh… which was noticed by husband Aamir Khan. He then gave the writer a tinkle… and rest we shall see if is history!
The original star cast was meant to include Ranbir Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh. After both of them backed off, Aamir roped in nephew Imran Khan soon after the success of his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The shooting began in August 2008 but it wasn’t as if Imran had it easy… apparently he gave 6 auditions to get the role.
Hmm… that’s quite a buzz. Time to give both Delhi Belly and Arthur’s Theme a dekko!
